Fitting instructions

Columns are supplied as standard with a maximum height of 2340 mm although they can be supplied with extensions if required. A minimum height is achieved by trimming the base of each column up to a maximum of 200 mm. If you are removing more than 120 mm from the base of each column then you may wish to rotate the column 180 when fitting, to improve the visual balance.

FIXING

Measure from base of column to the top of the doorframe and allow an additional 5 mm to establish the column height.

Remove the surplus from the base of each column using an angle grinder with a stone cutting disc, or traditional hand tools. Take care not to damage the column. Clean and chamfer all cut edges.

Fix each column with screws at the top and bottom. We recommend using suitable packing between the brickwork and column to prevent distortion when tightening the screws.

Carefully position the canopy on top of columns and mark and drill along mounting flange. Then remove the canopy and drill and plug the brickwork. We recommend a minimum of 5 fixing positions.

Drill along mounting flange.

We suggest that suitable care is taken when securing the mounting flange of the canopy to the brickwork to avoid distortion and that the white plastic caps are used to finish each screw head.

Any inconsistencies between mouldings and brickwork can be filled with silicone.

We recommend cleaning your columns and canopy with a warm soapy water. Abrasive materials MUST be avoided.
