Fascias and soffits 

Picture One. This picture shows a full replacement fascia board fitted to the end of the timber joists. Fascias should be double nailed in to each roof joist, soffits can be fitted in to an edge trim as shown, there is no need for any backing timber with this type of fascia

Picture Two. This picture shows a UPVC cover fascia board installed over the existing timber ,fascias should be double nailed at 600mm centres, its best to keep the nails up above the centre of the fascia board so the guttering system will cover them.

Picture Three. Box ends are easily covered with a single piece of fascia as shown in the picture both sides should be finished with fascia corners for a neat finish.

This picture shows the soffit resting on top of the existing wall, 152 solvent free glue should be used to prevent movement.
